Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 2026

TripDrop ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our flight price tracking app and website (tripdrop.app).

1. Information we collect

Account data (app): When you register we store your email, display name, preferred currency, and subscription plan (free, premium, or pro). This is stored in our database to provide the service and enforce plan limits (e.g. number of alerts).

Alerts and price data: We store the flight alerts you create (e.g. origin, destination, dates) and historical price data we compute for those alerts so we can notify you when prices drop.

Push notifications: To send price alerts we store a push notification token (FCM token) linked to your account. We do not use it for marketing without your consent.

Website – contact form: If you submit the contact form on our website we store your name, email, message, and optional user ID. We use this to respond to you.

Website – iOS waitlist: If you join the iOS waitlist we store your email and sign-up time so we can notify you when the app is available on the App Store.

Automated data: Our servers may log requests (e.g. IP, timing) for security and operations. Our website may use analytics (e.g. Vercel) to understand usage; this is covered below.

2. How we use your information

We use your data to:

  • Provide and operate the app (alerts, price tracking, notifications).
  • Manage your account and subscription (e.g. plan limits, RevenueCat sync).
  • Respond to contact form and waitlist sign-ups.
  • Improve the service, fix errors, and protect against abuse.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Third-party services

We use the following, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Firebase / Google Cloud: Authentication, database (Firestore), cloud functions, push notifications. Data is processed as described in Firebase privacy and Google Cloud privacy.
  • Flights Sky (RapidAPI) / Skyscanner: Flight search and price data. When we look up prices we send route and date parameters; see RapidAPI and Skyscanner policies for their handling of data.
  • RevenueCat: Subscription management (e.g. premium plans). RevenueCat may receive identifiers and purchase data; see RevenueCat privacy.
  • Vercel: Hosting and optional analytics for tripdrop.app. See Vercel privacy.

If the app uses advertising (e.g. AdMob), ad providers may collect data according to their policies and your device/account settings.

4. Data retention

We keep account and alert data for as long as your account is active. We retain price history and logs for operational and product improvement purposes; we may periodically delete or anonymize old data. Contact form and waitlist data are kept until we no longer need them to respond or to run the waitlist, or until you ask for deletion.

5. Your rights and choices

You can:

  • Access and update: View and edit your profile (e.g. currency) in the app.
  • Delete your account: In the TripDrop app, go to Settings and use “Delete account.” We delete your account record, alerts, price history, and push token, and we remove your Firebase Auth account. See our Data deletion page for details.
  • Other data (website): To have your contact form submission or waitlist email removed, email us at hello@tripdrop.app and we will process your request.

If you are in the European Economic Area or UK you may have additional rights (e.g. access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection). Contact us at hello@tripdrop.app to exercise them. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

6. Data security

We use industry-standard measures (e.g. HTTPS, secure backends, access controls) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children

TripDrop is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable minimum age). We do not knowingly collect data from such users. If you believe we have collected a child’s data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review it periodically.

9. Contact

For privacy questions, access or deletion requests, or complaints, contact us at hello@tripdrop.app. For a concise guide to deleting your data, see our Data deletion page.
